BCC Receives Emergency Funding from Johnson County

The Buffalo Children’s Center has received $10,000 in emergency funding from the Johnson County Commission, after representatives of the BCC asked the commission at a recent meeting.
New Director Brittany Scott discussed why the BCC is having financial difficulties.
The BCC, according to Scott, currently has 65 children enrolled in the program, but that number will go up in the summer after school is out for the year.
The BCC has also applied for One Percent funding this year.
After further discussion, which included how the BCC will get themselves back on track financially, the commission voted to award the emergency funding to them.
The Buffalo City Council was also asked by the BCC for $10,000 and the council will make a decision at a future meeting.
