Pat BlairSheridan Media reporter Pat Blair looks back in time, over 100 years ago, to the impact of Spanish influenza as reported in the pages of the Sheridan Enterprise in 1918.
James Taylor, who has been employed at the XL Bar ranch on Powder river, died of influenza at the Red Cross emergency hospital in Sheridan this morning, Oct. 25.
Dr. Dolan and Miss Minnie Smith, who is a trained nurse, have gone to Arvada at the instance of the Red Cross to lend their aid in an effort to bring the influenza situation there under control. The situation at Arvada has been reported particularly deplorable.
Several of the names found in the list of Liberty Loan subscribers in this paper will also be found among the list of victims of the influenza during the past few days.
