City Announces Art Contest

The city of Sheridan is holding an art contest for children.

Those ages 18 and under are invited to submit pictures that demonstrate something about Sheridan in the Summer that makes them happy. Works can be drawn, painted, colored or created with some other arts and craft supplies, but they must be emailed or postmarked by May 1 for the contest.

The child’s name, age and mailing address must accompany the entry, along with a brief note on why the artwork makes the child happy.

A committee at City Hall will judge the artwork during the week of May 4, and prizes will be mailed to winners in five age categories.

Winning entries will be featured on the city’s Facebook page and on the city’s website.

Art will be judged in five age categories – 0-4 years old, 5-7, 8-10, 11-13 and 14-18.
