Jo Co Commission Approves January Motions
At their first meeting of the year, Johnson County’s Commissioners, after electing officers for the year, approved the remainder of the annual January motions.
Commission Chair Bill Novotny asked if County Clerk Jackie Camino had received and accepted pecuniary forms from the county clerk and deputy clerk, treasurer and deputy treasurer, clerk of district court and deputy clerk of court, as well as the three county commissioners.
According to Google.com, pecuniary interests involve an actual or potential financial gain or loss, and the forms declare those possible conflicts of interest.
The commission also approved Treasurer Carla Bishop to make investments on behalf of the county; and the depositories for the county as First Northern Bank, First Interstate Bank of Commerce, Bank of Buffalo, and ANB Bank.
Finally the commission adopted the mileage rate for the county, the same as the 2024 Internal Revenue Service approved rate of 67 cents per mile.
