The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office and Sheridan County Road and Bridge have made an announcement about Red Grade Road. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Portion of Red Grade Road Open to Wheeled Vehicles

Sheridan County officials have determined that it is now safe for wheeled vehicles to operate on a portion of Red Grade Road. Red Grade Road is now open to wheeled vehicles from the snowmobile turnouts to the Bear Gulch parking lot. Due to snow conditions beyond the Bear Gulch parking lot, the portion of Red Grade Road west of the Bear Gulch parking lot will remain closed to wheeled vehicles.

The Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, along with Sheridan County Road and Bridge, will continue to monitor the condition of Red Grade Road. The remainder of Red Grade Road, or portions of Red Grade Road, will open to wheeled vehicles once the snow clears. Sheridan County Sheriff Levi Dominguez would like to remind the public to be mindful of any Bighorn National Forest Service road closures within the forest service boundary and follow the forest service laws related to snowmobiles and tracked vehicles.
