JCSD1 Superintendent Gives Written Report to School Board
Johnson County School District Superintendent Jim Wagner gave a written report to the school board during their meeting this week, touching on COVID-19, testing, and graduation exercises.
Wagner said as of May 6th, the district had no COVID cases and none in quarantine, although they were monitoring a possible exposure at a middle school concert hosted by Sheridan High School.
WYTOPP testing is wrapping up, and results will be posted later this summer after the state certifies results.
Sports seasons are also ending as regional and stae tournaments are scheduled over the next couple of weekends.
Graduation ceremonies are scheduled over the next couple of weekends.
This will be the first year with three ceremonies for Buffalo High School, Kaycee School, and New West High School.
And he said, “May 3-7 was Teacher Appreciation Week. It goes without saying this year was different than any other experience. Thank you to our teachers for finding a way to connect and keep their classes open for our students to be able to attend in person and online. This has made a difference for the students of Johnson County. There were many teachers that had to do and experience things that were never done before. Thank you, teachers, for making the year happen and providing the difference and flexibility the students needed to be here.”
