City, County Special Meetings Scheduled for Tuesday
Two special meetings have been scheduled by the Buffalo City Council and the Johnson County Commission on Tuesday.
The special meeting for the city council will be Tuesday afternoon in City Hall beginning at 5pm.
Mayor Shane Schrader explained that the meeting will be to consider the approval of a proposition for an additional special purpose 1% county-wide sales tax, and he explained what the tax would be used for.
Mayor Schrader said the majority of sales taxes in Johnson County are paid by visitors to the county.
Also scheduled is a special meeting by the Johnson County Commission beginning Tuesday at 9am in the historic courthouse.

Yet another tax. how long will the tourists come to a tax town. I traveled for many years and can still tell you the high taxation areas that I avoided.
