WYO 59 North bridge Replacement Project to Begin October 26
The Wyoming Department of Transportation and its contractor, Croell, Inc., will begin preliminary work on WYO 59 North just south of the Wyoming and Montana State line. According to WYDOT District 4 Senior Public Relations Specialist Laura Dalles, the project is scheduled to begin the week of October 26, with the construction of a detour at Olmstead Creek.
The $17.8 million project includes widening approximately seven miles of WYO 59 North, extending five box culverts and replacing a bridge at Olmstead Creek. Contractors will also be working on extending the box culverts throughout the winter months, with work on the new bridge to begin at a later date – schedule and weather permitting.
Upon completion of the bridge replacement, culvert extensions and widening of the shoulders, contractors will level and overlay the road between mile markers 170 and 163. Throughout the winter months, traffic may encounter isolated traffic control which may include reduced speed limits at those locations. The project is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2028.
