Natural History Museum of Wyoming Director Tom Hebert announced the museum will be closed for the month of January.

Located on the Sheridan College campus, the Natural History Museum of Wyoming features dinosaur fossils, rocks, minerals, and other natural history exhibits.

Hebert has a passion for paleontology and shares that interest with veterans and children through museum programs that offer participants the opportunity to dig at real sites for real fossils.

The museum will be closed during the first month of the new year as Hebert and his team refresh exhibits and prepare to display discoveries made by program participants.

Along with newly discovered fossils, several new dinosaur displays will be added to the collection to greet visitors when the museum reopens.

Expanding programs, growing the collection, and increasing community interest remain primary goals for Hebert, who said refreshing the visitor experience and highlighting fossils uncovered by children and veterans will become a yearly practice.
