Sheridan HS Girls Wrestling Team Finishes 2024-25 Season As State Runners-Up; Sheridan Boys 6th; Tongue River Boys 9th

The Sheridan Lady Broncs had 5 wrestlers place in the top 6 of their respective weight classes, including 1 state champ, to finish as State Runners-Up for the 2024-25 season.

Senior Becca Oetken 3-peated as state champ at 190 pounds.

Eva Anderson (155 pounds) and Bridgette Price (170 pounds) each finished 3rd, Searney O’Brien (125 pounds) placed 4th and Lilyahna Hancock (130 pounds) was 5th.

It’s the 3rd season for varsity girls wrestling in Wyoming.

Sheridan placed 3rd in each of the previous 2 seasons.

Star Valley would 3-peat as state champs.

Sheridan Boys:

The Sheridan Broncs had 2 undefeated state champs and 1 runner-up, 1 3rd and 1 6th place finish to place 6th in the team standings.

Keegan Rager (165 pounds) and Kelten Crow (175 pounds) each went undefeated on the season.

Rager’s match had the most drama, as he got a takedown with 7 seconds to go, to win 4-1.

Braxten Crow (157 pounds) finished 2nd, Chi Simmons (106 pounds) finished 3rd and Trayson Hastings (190 pounds) finished 6th.

Thunder Basin would repeat as 4A State Champs.

Tongue River Boys:

The Eagles had 1 runner-up finish, and 4 others place in the top 6, to finish 9th in the team standings.

Trey Breen (138 pounds) is state runner-up, Caleb Vollmer (157 pounds) was 3rd, TJ Watkins and Jack Melger (144 pounds) each placed 5th and Aiden Smith (120 pounds) was 6th.
