Sheridan Hawks Amateur Boys Hockey Team Learning And Rebuilding At B Level

The Sheridan Hawks boys team is preparing for the Wyoming Amateur Hockey League B State Tournament, which runs from Friday thru Sunday at Cody.
The team is seeded 3rd with a record of 13-4 with 3 ties and will open play on Friday (February 28th) at 3pm vs. Casper.
Matt Brown is a senior at Sheridan High School.
The team struggled last season at the A level and he says moving down to B level has taught the team a lot.
“We’ve really picked it up this season intensity wise and especially emotionally wise and controlling the way we play and I think moving down a little has kind of helped us grow and realize what we need to do to be a better team as a whole.”
Eli Lowe is also a senior at Sheridan High School.
He says moving down might not have been the most ideal thing at a personal level, but for the sake of the team and its future, the move was needed.
“I think the move down has definitely been beneficial for just general advancement for our team and getting better as a whole. It might not be what I want, because obviously playing against the ‘A’ players and the varsity players is what I’ve done my whole life and what most of these boys have done their whole life, but I think just growing the program, moving down to JV has definitely helped us.”
As for the Sheridan Lady Hawks, their state tournament is next weekend at Pinedale.
