A Sheridan Bronc Senior who quarterbacked his team to a 4th consecutive football state championship, will continue to call signals at the collegiate level.
Ty Gilbertson has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete at Montana Tech.
This past season he completed 60% of his passes for more than 1,700 yards and threw 22 touchdown passes, plus he ran in 5 TD’s himself.
Gilbertson says the coaching staff for the Orediggers kept in constant contact and that was part of what won him over.
“They started reaching out to me about 1 year ago, my junior year, and just kept contacting me and I felt great relationships with all their coaches and I feel like their culture is very similar to ours here at Sheridan and it just feels right. The Tech coach really kept contacting me and I went to a game, so I just liked it there and thought it would be a good place to go.”
Gilbertson adds he is considering a major in engineering.
Montana Tech is an NAIA school located in Butte.
