CTG to present “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play” 

Last year, the Civic Theater Guild produced “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” in front of a live audience, which was very well received by Sheridan audiences. 

This year, to follow up on the tradition, the CTG will be presenting an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic holiday story “A Christmas Carol” adapted into a radio play by playwright Joe Landry. The story is a play within a play, as local actors will play characters performing a radio play on the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge visited by ghosts of past, present and future on Christmas Eve.

Director Ian Cannon-Wallace told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse that plays done in this style may not require the traditional style of directing actors on where to stand and when, but do require a good foley artist, to bring it all to life.

This year once again Foley is provided by artist Kat Mansfield. Performances will begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 6, 7 , 13, 14. Performances will begin at 2 p.m. on  Dec. 8, 15. All performances will be at the Carriage House Theater, located at 419 Delphi, on the grounds of the Trail End Historic Site.

Purchase tickets here. Guests who purchase tickets for Dec. 6, 7, or 8, will also be granted admission to The Trails End Historic Site’s Holiday Open House tour of Kendrick Mansion. Present the ticket to “A Christmas Carol” for admission. The Holiday Open House will be open from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Dec. 6, 7, and 8.
