One Sheridan High School Senior has vaulted her way onto a college track and field team in Kansas.
Lilly Charest has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete at Wichita State University.
She is this year’s Wyoming 4A State Champ in the pole vault and was runner-up last year.
Charest says she wanted a different path compared to most other track and field athletes.
“When I was in 6th grade I had mono, so my parents made me do track and I saw pole vault and thought it was the weird looking one and so I did it. I learn something new everyday from it and I never stop learning and it’s just a new adventure and every year it’s very fun.”
She adds she is considering a career in counseling and/or psychology.
