In other business, several policies were approved on the first and second reading, and Business Manager Jeremy Smith said there were eight staff members who took time off to fight the fire, and he thanked the board and Jones for being flexible and allowing staff to volunteer to help fight the fire and protect the community. “We work for a special place, and we live in a special place. Kudos to you,” Smith said.
