While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Program Development Director Teresa Detimore and Leadership Sheridan County Steering Committee Chair Alison Meacham spoke on the Leadership Sheridan County Program.

Leadership Sheridan County is a program designed to inspire citizens to assume leadership roles in the Sheridan community. Although this year’s class has graduated, applications are being accepted for the 2025 class through Oct. 31.

The program is designed to challenge and prepare individuals from diverse backgrounds to become influential in determining the future of Sheridan County.

Meacham spoke on the time commitment required by those who attend the class.

Participants learn the many aspects of leadership as well as roles of government at the state, county and city levels.

According to the Chamber, these participants are chosen by blind application by the Leadership Steering Committee. Applications are accepted through October and must be submitted no later than Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024. According to Meacham, for the last few years, more applications have been submitted than the class has room.

Meacham said the class not only teaches these leadership skills, the curriculum explores the application of such an education in everyday life.
