Red Grade to Open to Wheeled Vehicles in April

The seasonal closure of wheeled vehicle traffic on Sheridan County’s Red Grade Road is set to end with the new month. Sheridan County Commissioner Mike Nickel specified that even though it is opening on April 1st, that doesn’t mean it will be traversable. 

Due to the uncertain nature of the condition on Red Grade, years ago the commissioners decided that it would be best to keep firm dates that the road would be closed through with a plea to the public to monitor the physical conditions when open. This was elected over the idea of opening and closing the road several times a year based on the conditions.
