Sheridan Broncs Boys Basketball Team Wins 2026 4A State Championship
The monkey is off of their back and it ended up being a lot closer than what they were used to.
The Sheridan High School Boys Basketball Team withstood Natrona County’s comeback efforts to win 52-47, and to claim their 3rd state title in school history and first since 2003.
The Broncs had a 9-point lead in the 3rd quarter, but the Mustangs got 2 quick 3’s early in the 4th, to tie things up.
It was a situation that Sheridan had yet to be in this season, because their previous closest win this season was 15 points, in last week’s 4A East Regional Championship Game.
Bench scoring made a difference as the Broncs won that category 20-2, thanks to 15 points from Riley Friday, to lead the team.
Nate Miner scored 13 and Johnny Spielman put in 10.
Rebounds and second chance points were other keys to the game, as the Broncs outrebounded NC 35-23 (including 13-6 in offensive rebounds) and got 10 second chance points, compared to 2 for the opposition.
Sheridan finishes the 2025-26 season with a record of 24-1.
