Seven North-Central Wyoming High School Coaches Named Coach Of The Year For The Fall 2025 Season

It’s the athletes that win the games, events, and championships, but the coaches have something to do with it.

Jeff Mowry (4A Football), Scott Dickey (Boys Tennis), and Art Baures (4A Boys Cross Country) of Sheridan HS, as well as Alli Nikont (2A Volleyball) and Cody Ball (2A Girls Cross Country) of Big Horn HS, have been named Coaches of the Year for the Fall 2025 sports season, by the Wyoming Coaches Association.

Bob Hanchett (Football) of Sheridan HS and Tara Hall (Cross Country) of Buffalo HS were named Assistant Coaches of the Year.

The Sheridan HS Football team 5-peated as 4A State Champs, and as of the end of the 2025 season, are on a 55-game winning streak, which is a Wyoming State Record (old record was 34) and is currently the second longest active winning streak in the country.

The Broncs have also won 34 in a row at home, which is a new Wyoming State Record (old record was 31).

The Sheridan HS Boys Tennis team won its second state title in school history.

The other was in 1985.

The Sheridan HS Boys Cross Country team won its second state title in school history.

The other was in 2019.

The Big Horn HS Volleyball team 3-peated as 2A State Champs and have won 4 of the last 5.

The Big Horn HS Girls Cross Country team won its first state championship in school history.

The Lady Rams tied for 1st in 2024, but lost the tie-breaker.
