Sheridan HS Football: The Sheridan High School Football team will head to Laramie this Saturday for the 5th year in a row, to play for a state championship.
The Broncs earned the privilege by defeating Cheyenne Central in the semifinals last week 28-7.
One of the key plays of that game was the last play before halftime, when Noah Newman blocked a field goal to keep the Indians’ off the scoreboard.
Head Coach Jeff Mowry says that play was a momentum shifter going into the locker room.
Sheridan will play Campbell County in the 4A State Championship Game this coming Saturday at 4pm inside War Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of Wyoming.
Big Horn HS Football: It may not be the season of giving just yet, but Big Horn received a lot of gifts in their semifinal game last week vs. Thermopolis.
The Rams took advantage of 4 fumbles, 2 turnovers on downs, 1 blocked punt, and recovered 1 kickoff to clobber the Bobcats 48-6.
BH Head Coach Kirk McLaughlin says there were times when the opposition was not giving the ball away.
Big Horn will play in the 2A State Championship this Friday at 12-noon vs. Mountain View in Laramie.
Tongue River HS Volleyball: It may not have been the finish they wanted, but Tongue River did bring something back from the state tournament to put in their trophy case.
TR placed 3rd at the 2A Volleyball State Tournament in Casper.
Senior Chaney Reish says the high point of the season had to be getting the road win against Big Horn last month, because it came at a time when the Lady Eagles were putting things together.
Tongue River finished the season with a record of 29-9.
University of Wyoming Men’s and Women’s Basketball: The Wyoming Cowboys are back on the court today, as they host Austin Peay State out of Tennessee.
Tip off is scheduled for 6:30pm and you can hear the game LIVE on AM 1410 KWYO and 106.9 FM.
Nazir Meyer was recently named the Mountain West Conference men’s basketball freshman of the week.
So far he’s been averaging 18.5 points per game off of the bench.
The Wyoming Cowgirls will play their first road game of the season today as the team visits UT Arlington.
