Karson Chase of Sheridan HS To Play Soccer at Laramie County CC: One Sheridan High School Soccer player will head to the opposite side of the state to play at the next level.
Karson Chase has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne.
This past season the Golden Eagles went 8-5-2 and made it to the Region IX Semi-Finals.
Chase says LCCC has had some success during the course of the past decade and he has some friends that are going to play on the team as well.
Chase adds he intends to major in business.
Paxton Aksamit of Tongue River HS To Play Basketball At Lawrence Univ.: One Tongue River Lady Eagle who likes to travel, except on the court, will hit the road and take her basketball skills to the other side of the Mississippi.
Paxton Aksamit has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete at Lawrence University, which is a private liberal arts school in Appleton, Wisconsin, about 30 miles southwest of Green Bay.
This past season she averaged 10 points per game and shot 30% from behind the arc, which helped TR win their 2nd straight 2A state championship.
The 2-time all-state selection says it was her shooting that got the attention of the Lady Vikings Coaching staff, because that’s what the team needs.
Aksamit adds she plans to major in Psychology.
The Lady Vikings are an NCAA Division 3 team that competes in the Midwest Conference and went 18-8 this past season.
McKinlee Scammon Of Tongue River HS To Play Volleyball at Northwest College: One Tongue River Lady Eagle will continue to play volleyball on the other side of the Big Horn Mountains.
McKinlee Scammon has signed a written offer of athletic aid to compete at Northwest College in Powell.
This past season the 2-time All-State selection helped TR to a 2A state runner-up finish, and the Lady Eagles finished 3rd in each of the 2 seasons prior to that.
She explains what it was that got the attention of the Lady Trappers Coaching staff.
Scammon adds she plans to major in wildlife biology.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies snapped their 8-game skid by winning yesterday at home vs. Atlanta 2-1, and avoided a 3-game sweep in the process.
Brenton Doyle’s solo home run made the difference.
The Rocks start a 4-game series today at San Francisco.

Denver Nuggets Basketball/NBA Playoffs: The Denver Nuggets will try to finish their first round best of 7 series against the LA Clippers today at LA.
The Nuggets lead the series 3-2, and Game 6 is scheduled to tipoff at 8pm.
Final scores from yesterday…Houston stayed alive by beating Golden State 131-116, but trail in the series 3-2.
Minnesota completed their upset of the LA Lakers winning at LA 103-96, to win the series 4-1.
Colorado Avalanche Hockey/NHL Playoffs: The Colorado Avalanche have their backs against the wall, as the team hosts Game 6 of their first round best of 7 series today vs. Dallas.
The puck drops at 7:30pm and the Avs trail in the series 3-2.
Should Colorado win, Game 7 would be Saturday at Dallas.
In yesterday’s games, Washington defeated Montreal 4-1, to win their series 4-1 and will play Carolina in the 2nd round.
Florida beat Tampa Bay 6-3 to claim a 4-1 series win.
Winnipeg topped St. Louis 5-3 and lead their series 3-2.
