News ReleaseSheridan College’s Rodeo Teams continued their strong performances at the Laramie County Community College Rodeo, held in Cheyenne, Wyo., on October 11-13.
Two student athletes earned top placements, keeping Sheridan College competitive in the Central Rocky Mountain Region standings.
On the Women’s team, Maci DeHaan excelled in Barrel Racing, placing first in the first round with a time of 16.24 seconds.
She followed up with a fifth-place finish in the second round, clocking 16.28 seconds.
DeHaan secured fourth place in the average for the weekend and currently sits sixth in the region.
For the Men’s Team, Jake Schlattman delivered another standout performance in the Saddle Bronc Riding, winning the long go with an 82-point ride.
He followed this up by scoring 74 points in the short go, which placed him second in the average with a combined total of 156 points.
This impressive showing moved him up to second in the regional standings.
The Sheridan College Rodeo Teams compete at the final fall season rodeo on October 18-20 at Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colo.
