REGIONAL SOCCER – Thursday at the 4A East regional soccer tournament held at Sheridan and at Big Horn, six teams qualified for next weekend’s state tournament, including the Sheridan Broncs and Lady Broncs, Sheridan Media’s Kevin Koile has the first day recap.
TRACK AND FIELD – Track and field regional meets start today the Broncs and Lady Broncs will compete at Thunder Basin high school while Big Horn, Tongue River and Arvada / Clearmont will all be in Torrington.
TROOPER BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers go on the road for a double header in Casper Sunday and will play at home next Saturday against the Billings Expos club team.
NIL SIGNING – The big man on the Big Horn high school basketball court, may soon have his head in the clouds.
Toby Schons, who is the 6 foot 8 inch senior at BH, has signed his National letter of intent, to play basketball at Embry-Riddle aeronautical university in Prescott, Arizona.
He helped the Rams to back-to-back state runner-up finishes and was a 2-time all-state selection in his high school career.
Schons says he was also considering the University of Wyoming as well as Rocky Mountain college in Billings, but Embry-Riddle not only had an athletic program, it had the type of education he was looking for.
Schons was recently selected to play in the Wyoming-Montana all-star basketball series that will be played next month in Gillette and in Billings.
Embry-Riddle is a private NAIA university that competes in the Cal-Pac conference the main campus is located in Daytona Beach, Florida.
ROCKIES BASEBALL – The Colorado Rockies are back at Coors field tonight to open a weekend series with Philadelphia. First pitch is at 6:40 you can hear the Rockies this season on Smart Talk 106.3 FM.
