Pat George
(Pat) James Patrick George took his final ride home on December 17th with his loving family surrounding him. Although he will be greatly missed, there is nothing his heart longed for more than to be reunited with his beautiful wife in heaven. He was born to Lester and Genevieve George, along with ten brothers and sisters. He spent his younger years running around with his siblings and friends, causing a little bit of mischief, like all the best boys do. He had an early love for horses and cowboy work and spent many years working at a local dairy where he learned all kinds of lessons to carry him through life.
His true calling was found when he was blessed with becoming a father and having two great sons, BJ and Scott. There was never a shortcoming of stories when it came to the boys and all the fun memories he had with them. As they grew into adults with families of their own, his love and pride in what wonderful men they had become only grew. If there was one thing Pat was good at, it was storytelling, and there was never a shortage of good ones for him to fill your time with. If you ever spent time with him, he was bound to give you a story or two to remember.
One of his favorite stories to tell was how he met the woman who stole his heart, Janiece. He couldn’t possibly miss their date, even after a bad injury at work that definitely required a trip to the hospital. In true Pat fashion, he had some help wrapping up his wounds and pushed on to charm Janiece’s socks off at dinner, and the rest is history. The love he had for her was one for the storybooks — the unshakable, unbreakable kind most people only dream of finding. After tying the knot, that love only grew as they joined families.
Not only was he lucky enough to have two wonderful sons of his own, but he was also blessed with three additional stepsons when he met Janiece. He took her boys, Hunter, Nick, and Troy, as his own, teaching them all the important lessons in life and what a great and loving role model looks like. There was never a time when a cup of coffee and a good game of cribbage with his boys wasn’t his favorite way to spend a day — unless he got skunked during the game.
Aside from being a wonderful father, he enjoyed being a Grandpa even more. He was blessed with a whole crew of grandchildren and spent a good portion of his retired years caring for his granddaughters, Brynlee and Bailey. Their days were full of laughs, coffee dates, Walmart runs, and stories for the record books. They were nicknamed “The 3 Amigos,” and it fit them well. After losing his beautiful wife, he looked forward to the day they would be reunited again. As much as he is missed in all our hearts, he got his Christmas wish to be back with his loving bride.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Genevieve; sisters Annie and Mary; brothers Sonny, Dale, and Andy; his niece Heather; and his wife, Janiece. He is survived by his siblings Ginger, Nellie, Tammie Jo, Leslie, and Lynn, along with their spouses and children. He is also survived by his sons BJ (Benjamin, Samantha, Garrett), Scott and his wife Tonya (Chantel, Hank), Hunter Wohlers (Brynlee, Bailey), Nicholas Wohlers and his wife Christina (Brendan, Owen, Collin, Faryn, Niall), and Troy Wohlers, along with multiple great-nieces, nephews, and extended family.
