Kathleen “Chi-Chi” Adams
Kathleen “Chi-Chi” Adams passed away on Wednesday September 24th, 2025, at
Legacy Living in Gillette WY. Chi-Chi was born June 15, 1952, to Eileen “Ike” and
Donald Adams in Sheridan WY. She was the first of 4 daughters. Sisters Gayleen,
Cookie, and Mickie were not too far behind her.
Chi-Chi was known for her strong work ethic and trailblazing spirit in traditionally male-
dominated industries. In Sheridan, she worked at the Coca-Cola Plant, drove Concrete
Truck for Reeves Concrete, Oiler on the Dragline at Decker Coal, and various Flagging
jobs; In Rock Springs at FMC; and in Gillette she worked as a Custodian at CCSD #1,
and Drove Haul Truck at Amax Eagle Butte Mine for several years. She also worked
underground at the Stillwater Mine in Nye, MT. She quickly earned the respect of the
men that she worked with and was always in on the dirty jokes and pranks. She had a
very diverse sense of humor and was not easily offended.
She had an unbelievable love of animals, (probably because they couldn’t talk back)
with horses and dogs being her favorite. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and
hunting with Bob, and she was a very good shot! She loved going to garage sales with
her Aunt Jeannie in Billings, where she always bought treasures for her grandchildren,
no matter how many times Timi and Ryan told her not to. She always stood up for the
less fortunate and would give away her last dollar if someone was in need.
In December 2018 she found out that she had brain cancer. A few days later, the tumor
was removed, and she started chemo and radiation. She sailed through the treatment,
thanks to the amazing care given to her by her Daughter-In-Law, Jennifer. Shortly after
her final radiation treatment, on July 11th, 2020, she had a fall that pinched her spinal
cord. She lost her independence and was confined to a wheelchair. She lived at
Gallaghers Assisted Living in Billings, MT before later moving to Legacy Living in Gillette
WY to be closer to her sisters. She enjoyed playing Bingo and keeping the Staff on
their toes. We will forever be grateful for the amazing care she received at both places,
even though she let her ornery streak show every now and then.
She is survived by her daughter Timi (Monte) of Sheridan and son Ryan (Jennifer) of Billings MT. Granddaughters Bailey & Bradey Burr of Williston ND, Ella Wingerter of
Billings MT and her favorite grandson, Porter Wingerter of Billings MT. Her sisters
Gayleen of Washington DC, Cookie, and Mickie (Mike) both of Gillette WY. Along with
all her remaining nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts. She is preceded in Death by
her father Don Adams and mother Eileen “Ike” Adams, aunts Betty “Bid”, Josie, and
Kathleen; uncles Tommy and Jim; cousins Kolter Garner, Larry Adams, Troy Adams,
Michael Wassman, Lori Brown, and all her beloved horses and dogs.
A Celebration of Life will be had at the Elks Lodge in Sheridan on Saturday, October 11th from 1PM-3PM.

My sympathy to Chi Chi’s family. I knew her in the early 1970’s. She was a beautiful girl with a warm and friendly personality. Everyone who met her, loved her. She and her family lived in an apartment above Frickeys Heating and Air. Her younger sisters were all beautiful girls and always so nice. I will always have fond memories of Chi Chi.

I was friends with Chi Chi back in the day. We had many good laughs and plenty of parties to talk about. She was such an independent woman and I admired her courageous spirit. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in Peace my dear friend.
