Nancy Marie Marquess, of Big Horn, Wyoming, passed away on September
16, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on February 5, 1937, in
Sheridan, Wyoming.
Nancy graduated from Sheridan High School and was primarily a
homemaker for many years. She worked a variety of jobs later in life
including working at Big Horn School and, most recently, at Walmart.
She was a master of needlework, creating countless sweaters, hats,
blankets and wall hangings that are treasured by the many people that
received them.
A loving mother and grandmother, Nancy is survived by her son, Richard
Marquess Jr. (wife Kristie) and her daughter Margaret Haller, seven
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in
death by her husband, Richard Marquess Sr., her mother, Pearl Hayhome,
her father, Milford (Bud) Wardlow and her brother Robert (Bob)
Wardlow.
Nancy had a special knack for baking and enjoyed sharing her baked
goods with family, friends and coworkers. This generosity extended to
feeding animals and wildlife of all kinds that frequented her yard
providing her with much entertainment and enjoyment. Nancy’s warm
spirit and generous heart will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Details of the memorial services are still being determined. The
family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the
Sheridan Animal Shelter.
