Bonita Jo Nuss (Bonnie), 69, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at her home in Sheridan, Wyoming, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie was born June 1, 1954, in Potter, Nebraska to Dwain and Ellen Madden. She married Michael Crow in Saratoga, Wyoming in 1972, and had two children, Christopher and Jennifer. Bonnie lived in Saratoga for several years where she eventually met and married Fred Nuss in 1983 and moved to Laramie, Wyoming to raise Chris, Jen, and Fred’s two sons, Josh and Jon. In 2008 Bonnie and Fred moved to Sheridan to be closer to grandchildren.
Bonnie, or Nana as most everyone knew her, loved nothing more than to cheer and whistle from the stands at her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was always the loudest fan in the crowd, letting her grandkids know Nana was rooting them on. Nana loved watching the Sheridan Broncs and the Wyoming Cowboys, being outside in the sunshine, spending time with her grandchildren, hanging out with her dog Tuck, and watching game shows.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Crow; her brother Barry Madden; her mother Ellen Madden, and her father Dwain Madden. Bonnie is survived by her husband Fred Nuss; sons, Chris (Megan) Crow, Josh (Diana) Nuss, and Jon Nuss; grandchildren, Dontae Crow, Hayden Crow, Kelten Crow, Braxten Crow, Sierra Nuss, and Camden Nuss; great-granddaughter Jhene Crow and her siblings, Nora (Peter) Christiansen, Cindy (Kelly) Jones, Randy (Jeanette) Madden and Doug Madden.
A celebration of her life will be held in the future.
