Ron RichterThe Wyoming Game and Fish announced that mountain lion hunt area 23, in the Sheridan Region, closed on Monday at 1:15 pm. The hunt area closed for the season because the mortality limit of 15 mountain lions was reached. According to information from the Game and Fish, most mountain lion hunt areas have a mortality limit and close as soon as the limit is reached, or when the season ends, whichever comes first.
It is the hunter’s responsibility to call the 24-hour mountain lion mortality limit hotline at 1-800-264-1280. before going hunting to check the status of a hunt area.
