Arraignment Held for Sheridan Man Charged With Felony Theft



An arraignment hearing for 24-year-old Charles Albin was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. Albin was arrested on August 4 and charged with Felony Theft for stealing a Ford Expedition from a residence on Avoca Avenue in Sheridan. Albin, at Tuesday’s arraignment, pleaded “not guilty by reason of mental impairment or deficiency” to the alleged charge.

District Court Judge John Fenn ordered that a mental health evaluation be conducted and scheduled the #4 stack trial for January 24 and set the pretrial conference for December 14 at 10:30 am. Albin’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court. The crime of felony theft is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
