WCDA Releases New CDBG Program

Wyoming’s Community Development Block Grant program has transitioned from the Wyoming Business Council to the Wyoming Community Development Authority. According to a media release from the WCDA, the CDBG program will be focused on mixed-use and residential neighborhood development, as all municipalities and counties within Wyoming are encouraged to apply for over $12 million in grant dollars.
The $12 million can go towards public services for the homeless, public infrastructure and utilities, housing repair and revitalization, seniors or persons with a disability and energy efficiency improvements for community facilities. Assistance will be available in the form of grants with no repayment required. WCDA staff will provide extensive technical assistance and training on all federal program requirements.
CDBG CARES Act funds for coronavirus relief activities will be featured in the first Notice of Funding Availability to be issued this month. WCDA’s previous Affordable Housing Development Department is now the new Housing and Neighborhood Development Department. The Neighborhood Development Division will be in charge of the CDBG Program.
