GOP to Democrats: Say the Border is a Crisis
U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (Wyoming) joined fellow Wyoming Senator John Barrasso and other Republican colleagues on a resolution calling on the Biden Administration to correctly refer to the surge of illegal immigrants at our southern border as a crisis.
Of the resolution, Senator Lummis said:
“This is the largest surge in migration in two decades, yet the Biden Administration refuses to call it a crisis. It’s time to acknowledge the reality that this a security and humanitarian crisis and take action. We need to secure the border now.”
Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma is the primary sponsor. Cosponsors of the resolution include Sens. Jim Risch (R-Idaho), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), John Boozman (R-Ark.), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.), Todd Young (R-Ind.), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.V.), Mike Rounds (R-S.D.), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), John Thune (R-S.D.), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Steve Daines (R-Mont.).
The resolution reads: “Expressing the sense of the Senate that the current influx of migrants is causing a crisis at the Southern border. Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That it is the sense of the Senate that the current influx of migrants at the Southern land border of the United States constitutes a crisis.”

But it isn’t a “crisis” as the Dems see it. They’ve been drooling over the chance to open the border for decades and now they’ve got the horsepower in D.C. to get it done. They are actively abetting societal suicide, pure and simple.

Don’t listen to this self serving power intoxicated woman. She stood by and said nothing as the prez she clung to tried to subvert the US constitutional process and keep power after losing an election. She said she was all for him during her campaign, and birds of a feather . . . The current repubs (now different than those who I grew up with in WY and who had integrity ) can’t be trusted to safeguard our nation and democratic processes. She and her party are power hungry, money hungry, status seeking self-serving politicians.
She doesn’t want to serve our country and citizens by trying to work on policy and fix things. She and the others who set the stage for an assault on the peaceful transition of power are only trying to ramp up emotional heat to sabotage any success by the current administration, so the repubs can regain power . . . . and do what? Fiscal responsibility, protect the constitution, transparency and good government? Ha! They, as their fearless leader, promote themselves. If only that wayward party could find a way to statesmanship and competency. May take a few years, and until then, don’t trust her or other repubs.

Which repubs were those, Dennis? The ones who sat on their hands and let fiscal responsibility go by the wayside? You have the same thing today.

your last paragraph is thought provoking…”if only that wayward party could find a way to statesmanship and competency’….that person might just be Mike Pence…you have to give the Pence credit he diplomatically navigated four years as Trumps VP…Pence has both “statesmanship and competency”… but the GOP hasn’t figured it out yet

The “crisis” at the border was in place under t-rump also…why did y’all repubs not squeal about it when t-rump was in office? Hypocrisy has no bounds in the failed gop.

This is the spring surge that is seen every year (2019 was actually larger). 2020 was down because of covid- what we’re seeing here is a return to normality. Just because you don’t like the facts does not make them falsehoods. Please do your homework.

Yes, because every spring people show up at the border in Biden tee-shirts.
I’m down here, ray, and the local authorities are calling it a catastrophic crisis as never seen before. The cartels are running the show behind the fence, and they are brutal. Please turn off the CNN and educate yourself.
Biden is not in charge, nor has he ever been.

More words, no action by the worthless repubs. This was a problem when you were a rep., Cynthia, so what did you do about it back then? Nothing.
