Buffalo Council Passes Second Read of 2026-27 Budget

Buffalo’s City Council, at their Tuesday regular meeting, passed the second reading of their 2026-27 budget.

Mayor Shane Schrader brought a change to the budget, explaining why it was needed.

The city’s roughly $18.4 million budget includes a Capital Improvements budget of nearly $8.4 million.

The council passed the Resolution on second reading.

City of Buffalo proposed Budget with the changes:

General City, $721,910; Protective Services, $2,710,040; Streets, $1,437,630;

Recreation, $597,790; Water, $1,861,900; Wastewater, $901,065; Sanitation, $699,790; Misc. Equipment, $656,320; Capital Improvements, $8,388,696;

Outside Agencies and City Affiliates, $419,377; Total Appropriation, $18,394,578.
