SCSD#3 Board Discusses Offer on Arvada School

On Monday, March 31, the SCSD#3 School Board held a special meeting to discuss an offer received for the Arvada School property. The property is listed with Karlon Knudson with 307 Real Estate of Sheridan.

The offer is well below what the School District is asking for the property, which includes the 2 bedroom, 1 bath school building and 1.12 acres of land in the middle of the quiet town of Arvada.

“I see three options,” SCSD#3 Superintendent Chase Christensen said. “We can accept the offer, reject the offer or make a counteroffer.”

Knudson attended the meeting and provided more information about the offer.

Trustee Deb Guyer wondered if the school could make a counter offer for a higher price than was offered. Knudson said that the board could make a counter offer, but there was no guarantee that that the potential buyer would accept it.

“A counteroffer is form of rejection,” he added.

After some discussion the board moved to make a counteroffer. Christensen read the motion that was on the floor.

The board voted to approve the motion.
