Connolly on Crossover, Property Tax Bills

State Representative Marilyn Connolly (HD-40), in her weekly update from this year’s legislative session, talked about reaching the crossover point where House bills go to the Senate, and Senate files go to the House for consideration.
She said she and the rest of the House members are finishing up the last of their bills in preparation of diving into the Senate files.
Connolly said one they will be debating immediately is SF0069, the Homeowner Property Tax Exemption bill.
Her hope with SF0069 is that the House can finally find something she can get behind and vote for that can take care of everybody.
We will have more from our conversation with Representative Marilyn Connolly in upcoming stories.

How about zero property taxes after age 70? Let our seniors enjoy their hard-earned golden years without fear of being driven out of their homes, due to high taxes.
Other states have successfully eliminated property taxes on all private homes. Maybe we should look at that instead of bickering over tweaks around the edges.
If you’ve paid off your home thru a lifetime of hard work, you shouldn’t have to keep paying “rent” to the gov’t just to keep men with guns from evicting you from your own home.
Will this Force the gov’t to quit wasting our money? Absolutely.
Will this force gov’t to be more efficient? Yes and it’s about time.
The less of our money we allow gov’t to take from us….the more wisely they will spend it.
