cvannoyOn Tuesday, Dec. 5, Brad Bauer, executive director of the Sheridan Community Land Trust, along with Meghan Kent SCLT Conservation Director, talked to the Legislators at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Legislative forum.
Senators Dave Kinskey and Bo Biteman, along with Representatives Barry Crago, and Cyrus Western, Mark Jennings and Ken Pendergraft, attended the forum.
The SCLT was one of the 30 organizations that attended the forum. He had a slide show about the many projects that the SCLT does in the Sheridan area.
Bauer presented a slide show and talked about what SCLT does in the area. He talked about some of the sources of funding, donations, grants and partners including UW Ag Experiment station. Wyoming Humanities Council, Wyoming Cultural Trust fund and Wyoming Wildlife and Natural Resources Trust.

She said that was 800 acres more than last year. She said that when she came on two years ago, she wanted to find other ways to help people.
Bauer also mentioned some upcoming history events, such as the virtual tours of the Black Diamond Trail tour, Big Goose Walking tour, and Soldier Ridge Trail. Coming soon will be the Iron Riders, an American Army experiment seeing how bicycles could be used by the military.
They also discussed fences across creeks, and Bauer said it would be nice to find a way to work with landowners to make the fencing across the creeks easier for rafters or kayakers to get through when floating the creeks. He said that that the statue on portage across private land and whether or not it was trespassing wasn’t very clear.
The December Explore History program will be a Virtual Float down Big Goose Creek. There will be two programs, one on December 12, at 10 a.m. at the Hub on Smith, and again on Dec. 19 at the Tongue River Valley Community Center in Dayton beginning at 10:30 a.m.
