The Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum has announced it will be hosting “Remembering Heart Mountain,” a guest presentation on the Heart Mountain Internment Camp, on June 16.
Communications and Marketing Director of the Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation Krist Ishikawa Jessup, will present the program. The program will begin at 7 p.m. at the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum. Guests also have the option to join via Zoom.
According to WVMM, Jessup will be exploring the history and continued legacy of the Heart Mountain Internment Camp in northwest Wyoming. It was there during WWII, the US Government relocated over 14,000 Japanese Americans. Throughout the war, many remained in the state only to find their lives and livelihoods changed forever, according to the museum.
