Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey Team Win 2 Of 3 Home Games Over Halloween Weekend

The Sheridan Hawks had a rare 3-game weekend last week and ended up winning 2 of 3 after a terrible start.

In the first game, the team was shut out by Rapid City 7-zip.

Head Coach Zach Monaco says games like those happen and when they do, they turn the page and move on to the next game, but he did have to give the players a bit of a talk.

“I basically just told them that we are capable of beating any team, but it all starts in our locker room and how we prepare for the game, how we come into it. We hold the fate in our hands of winning and losing.”

Sheridan responded by winning the second game vs. Rapid City 7-5 and also beat Great Falls 5-2.

Coach Monaco says players on the team had to remember that they were a team.

“We started playing more as a unit of 5 rather than individual talent. Move the puck quicker and got more pucks on net and got bodies to the net. No secret there besides we did the right things when we were suppose to do them.”

The Hawks are home again this weekend with 1 game on Friday vs. Butte and 1 on Saturday against Gillette.

The puck drops for both games at 7:30pm.
