Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum Will Host NASA STEM Dinner 

The image of the cowboy on the frontier is iconic – venturing into the unknown, persevering through storms and challenges, all to get the job done. Now, NASA has noticed that same persevering spirit and grit in Wyoming students.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Director of the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum Sylvia Bruner and the Director of UW Research Development and NASA STEM Engagement Programs in Wyoming, Dr. Shawna McBride, announced the museum will host a NASA STEM dinner Saturday, Sept. 12. 

During the dinner, catered by the Historic Occidental Hotel, McBride will explore NASA’s future and Wyoming’s potential role in supporting the nation’s growing space workforce.

McBride will discuss how NASA is looking at Wyoming students and their opportunities in STEM, skilled trades, advanced manufacturing and technology, including fields needed to build rockets and support future missions to the moon and Mars.

The program will highlight existing Wyoming STEM education, hands-on learning and opportunities to prepare Wyoming students for future careers.

The NASA in Wyoming Dinner will be 5 – 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Playhouse at 7 North Main St. in Buffalo. Click here for tickets.
