Partnership Provides Locally Produced Food to Local Families Who Need It

The Food Group is continuing its efforts to address food insecurity through programs including weekly food bags, community food pantries, monthly home deliveries and the upcoming Fill the Bus events. 

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, The Food Group Interim Executive Director Shane Rader and Program Director Jenny Tribley said the nonprofit organization is currently serving more than 200 homes each month throughout the community. Home deliveries are made once a month during the school year and weekly during the summer months while school is out of session.

The Food Group opened its doors this summer to families who participate in home deliveries. Rader said thanks to a partnership with Rooted in Wyoming, locally produced food is being provided to local Sheridan families.

Fill the Bus provides an opportunity for residents to donate food and help replenish supplies used by individuals and families who are experiencing food insecurity. The Fill the Bus events are held at the end of September and beginning of October. Sheridan Media will announce the dates, times and locations in the coming weeks.
