Sheridan WYO Rodeo 2026: Not all the money at a rodeo is won at a performance.

The slack round can produce its share of winners as well.

In the barrel racing last night, Michelle Alley out of Texas, set a new Sheridan WYO Rodeo arena record with a run of 16.88 seconds.

More slack round action is scheduled for today at 8am with team roping, tie-down roping, steer wrestling and breakaway roping.

There are other slack round competitions scheduled for each morning between today and Saturday.

The first rodeo performance, along with the World Championship Indian Relay races is scheduled for 7pm today.


Sheridan Troopers/Jets Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers are back at home for a pair of games today vs. the Upper Deck Expos out of Billings, Montana.

First pitches are scheduled for 1 and 3pm.

Meanwhile, the Sheridan Jets strengthened their case to qualify for the state tournament, with a conference double-header sweep vs. the Gillette Rustlers last night.

Scores were 10-1 and 3-zip.

The team is next scheduled to play on Sunday at Casper, against the Wildcatters.


Sheridan HS Grad Texas Tanner Training For 2028 Olympic Games: A Sheridan High School grad is done competing at the collegiate level, but he still has a few golden plans to work on.

Texas Tanner, who graduated from Sheridan in 2022, is this year’s College National Runner-Up in the hammer throw and placed 4th in the discus.

For the second year in a row, he has been named the Mountain West Conference Male Track and Field Athlete of the Year, and he is also the 2022 Wyoming Gatorade Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year.

Tanner says in terms of competition, he’s now training to compete in LA in 2028.

Tanner recently graduated from the US Air Force Academy with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Management, and is considering working towards a master’s degree in business.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies won last at the LA Dodgers 4-3.

The 2 teams are scheduled to play the rubber game of their 3-game series today, beginning at 8:10pm.

After that the Rocks will start a 4-game series tomorrow at San Francisco.
