University Of Wyoming Spring Football Game Canceled: If you were planning on traveling to Cheyenne this weekend to watch the University of Wyoming Spring football game this coming Saturday, cancel those plans.

Yesterday, the team announced that due to an approaching weather system that is carrying a chance of snow with it, the game has been called off.

Instead the Pokes will have a scrimmage open to the public today at 3:30pm inside War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.

Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers are scheduled to play a 9-inning non-conference game today at Gillette beginning at 5pm.

This past weekend, the Troopers dropped 2 out of 3 at Rapid City Post 22, winning the first of those 3 games.

The team didn’t have a game the weekend prior and Head Coach Austin Cowen says the boys were itching to get back on the field and get road game experience in Saturday’s first game.

Sheridan has scheduled 2 home games this coming Saturday and 2 more home games on Sunday, although the weather could be a factor.

We’ll keep you updated on any changes if and when they become available.

Sheridan Mavericks Lacrosse: The Sheridan Mavericks boys team may have split their only home games of the season this past weekend, but in the grand scheme of things, the team has won over some fans.

Playing in front of a packed stadium, the Mavericks lost on Friday 5-3 vs. Cody, then rebounded on Saturday and spanked Helena 19-6.

The teams’ record on the season is 5-1, and are next scheduled to play on Saturday at Cody vs. 2 different teams from Bozeman.

Looking back on this past weekend, Head Coach JR Wright says based on the fan turn-out, the sport is here to stay.

The Lady Mavericks had this past weekend off from competition and players were in attendance at the boys’ games.

Head Coach Brianna Scholl says the sport is growing and it will eventually pick up on the girls side.

The main reason the boys are further ahead is because the boys program has been around 1 year longer compared to the girls, but progress is being made.

The Lady Mavericks are currently 3-2 on the season.

The team plays in the division 2 level within the Montana High School Lacrosse Association and will play some division 1 JV opponents this weekend at Missoula.

Sheridan’s 2 home games of this season are scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 11th.

Sheridan HS Soccer: Sheridan is scheduled to play Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East this Friday and Saturday.

The boys will play at home and girls on the road.

Sheridan County HS Track and Field: Big Horn, Tongue River and Arvada-Clearmont are scheduled to compete at a meet tomorrow at Buffalo.

Sheridan has changed their plans and will head to Buffalo as well, because Saturday’s meet at Sturgis is not happening.

Sheridan HS Spring Golf: Sheridan is scheduled to compete at Gillette on Friday.

Big Horn and Tongue River have changed up their schedules.

Instead of going to Moorcroft and Sundance this weekend, both teams will play on Friday at Powell.

Denver Broncos Football: Round 1 of the NFL draft is tonight.

Round 2 and 3 will take place tomorrow, while Rounds 4-7 will take place on Saturday.

The Padres scored 4 runs in the top of the 1st inning.

The 2 teams will conclude the 4-game series this afternoon at 1:10pm.

Colorado will then have a rare Friday off on the schedule, and then play 2 games against the Houston Astros.

The Rockies will be the home team in those 2 games, but they will be played in Mexico City.
