Sheridan College will once again offer students of the performing arts a unique and intensive opportunity this summer. The Broadway Musical Theater Intensive will be June 14 – 30, in Sheridan and thanks to a generous sponsor who paid 75% of the tuition costs already, the price has been greatly reduced.

Director and Creative Producer Gina Feliccia teaches acting and vocal performance at Sheridan College. Trained in opera, dance, acting for stage and screen and much more, Feliccia’s life before settling in Sheridan includes working and studying throughout the country with some of the industry’s greatest performers and even performing for the President of the United States.

Last year, Feliccia organized and held the first Broadway Musical Theater Intensive at Sheridan College, a high-paced intensive program taught by experienced professionals that demands focus, long hours and commitment.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Feliccia said the intensive is a rare opportunity that includes lessons by professionals that she would have liked as a student.

The Broadway Musical Theater Intensive will be instructed by Sheridan College’s top performance teachers and Broadway performers currently involved in the industry. It involves two weeks of next-level training open to students 15 to 26 years of age.

This year the intensive will also count as three credit hours. The cost for each student to attend the intensive is valued at $1400, but a generous donor has contacted Sheridan College and donated funds to cover 75% of the tuition fees this year, bringing the cost to just $350.

An intensive class on the behind scenes work, lighting, backstage and sound (valued at $800) is also being offered at the cost of $200, thanks to the donor.

In an arrangement with Concord Theatricals, the performance this year will be Chess, a musical by Björn Ulvaeus and Tim Rice.

Registration is now open. The deadline to register is March 15. Student slots are limited. To audition for a chance to participate in this intensive, click here, for a full schedule and list of requirements.
