Ron RichterUprising is a nonprofit based in Sheridan that works to empower communities, volunteers, and donors to confront human trafficking and exploitation through awareness, education and outreach. January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Uprising Co-Founder and Executive Director Terri Markham recently provided an update before the Sheridan City Council and Mayor Rich Bridger on the work they’ve done over the past year.
Markham said educating youth is a big part of what they do.
Markham said they provided training to about 1,200 people this past year as part of professional training.
