Dora Keffer

Funeral services for Dora Keffer, a 91-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away Sunday at the Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo will be held Wednesday, December 6 at 10:00 at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Pastor Don Paulson officiating. A private interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Dora’s memory may be made to the Amie Holt Care Center at 497 W. Lott in Buffalo.  Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com.  A reception will be held following the funeral at the American Legion Hall in Buffalo.

Dora Lorene Keffer was born on December 3, 1931, in Wellington, Colorado to Frank and Levena Nockold.   She grew up and went to school in Wellington and attended Wellington High School.  She was married on September 25, 1947, in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Lawrence Keffer and they made their home in Cheyenne.  In 1949 they moved to Laramie where they started their family, and she was a homemaker.  In 1955 they moved to Buffalo and raised their four boys and Larry had a taxidermy shop.  Larry passed away in May of 2003 and Dora continued living in Buffalo until her death. She had been a resident at Amie Holt Care Center for the past year.

Dora was an excellent cook, and enjoyed playing cards and crocheting. She was an avid horseshoe and pool player. She was a passionate grandmother and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by four sons, Larry Keffer and his wife Kathy of Bar Nunn, Wyoming, Dennis Keffer and his wife Barb of Mission Viejo, California, Rohy Keffer and his companion Jean of Buffalo and Melvin Keffer and his wife Terri also of Buffalo; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Florence, Betty, and Daisy, and three brothers Lou, Howard, and Harry.
