Holly Jennings will serve as the next Sheridan County Commissioner.

In an Order issued Thursday afternoon, Fourth Judicial District Court Judge Darci Phillips announced she had appointed Jennings to fill the vacancy on the Board of County Commissioners.

The vacancy came about after the resignation of former County Commissioner Allen Thompson, who was offered and accepted the executive director position at the Wyoming Association of Sheriffs and Chiefs of Police (WASCOP) earlier this summer.

According to the Order issued by Phillips, Jennings will serve until a successor is elected at the next general election, who will then take office on the first Monday of the following January.

Thanks Judge. Justice and the Rule of Law still thrive in the Free State of Wyoming. Congrats to Ms. Jennings! Well done and richly deserved. And a huge thank-you to Mr. Arzy, Mr. Helferich and all, for having the courage and fortitude to run and then apply to fill the vacancy. The People of Sheridan County are all winners in this wonderful appointment outcome.
Why the Board of Commissioners failed us so badly, remains a mystery. that we should unravel. Failure to follow the law and breaking their Oaths, must not be tolerated, lest it beget more Lawlessness.

Mr Fox…the commissioners didn’t “fail” they showed good impartial judgement and the process as outlined by Wyoming Law played out in due process…nobody can say it was “a good old boy/girl appointment” the commissioners kept an arms length away from filling a “short term” vacancy avoiding any conflict of interest accusations…next year the voters will rightly decide who will hold office and that’s the way it should be.

It’s right there in the law. It only goes to court if the commissioners “Fail” to follow the law and vote for one of the three people already chosen and nominated by the Republican Party. It’s in black and white! All four commissioners FAILED to follow the law and Roberts Rules. They also broke their oath of office, which requires them to follow the law. Breaking the Sacred Public Trust is HUGE and you’re right, they will all be held accountable by the People of Sheridan County. Hopefully sooner rather than later. We can’t wait till 2024 to correct their Lawlessness!

Failure to follow the law is not “impartial judgement” it is “lousy judgement” and in fact, a Double-Failure. They failed to follow both the Law and Roberts Rules. It’s written right there in the governing statutory law, 18.3.524. Only if the commissioners “Fail” to select one of three fully-qualified candidates, does it go to a Judge. There was no “conflict of interest” avoidance or “arms length” there was only a clear Failure to follow the law. That’s exactly why it went to a Judge. The Four Failed commissioners Failed. Period! The judge admonished their failure, from the bench, and she followed the law and appointed the “next person up” in the 2022 election And the Central Committee voting. Ms. Jennings was the top vote-getter in both cases and is the rightful and logical New Commissioner.

Mr Fox you are wrong again on all counts…sowing distrust and suspicion in our local government leaders who have a track record of honesty and integrity will not get you elected…you will reap what you sow in the next election should you decide to run again for Sheridan County Commissioner

This is about following the law. The Republican Party did so, to the letter. The Judge also abided by the law and the will of voters and the Central Committee. The “Four Failed” commissioners went rogue. They clearly failed to do their job. The “Four Failed” commissioners will be held to account, for their gross dereliction of duty and failure to abide by their sworn oath to follow the law. The majority of voters in Sheridan County know this truth.

Mr Fox you have been critical of the Sheridan County Commissioners for years for one reason or another all the while seeking a commissioner position…you have a conflict of interest…you are too radical…that is why voters continue to vote for other candidates in larger numbers instead of YOU

I took an Oath to defend the Constitution. An oath similar to the one the commissioners took. When they Violate that Oath, it’s my job, as a citizen, to point that out and hold them accountable. That’s all I’m doing. If defending freedom and the rule of Law seems radical in the misguided thinking of some…..well so be it. They are clearly Wrong. They just don’t seem to understand that defending our national heritage of Liberty, requires active involvement, and logical, clear-headed reasoning ability. You might try it sometime.

Mr Fox the problem with you is that you aren’t mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective

Socialism and lawlessness aren’t just “different perspectives” they are concepts foreign to and in fact antithetical to our American founding principles of Liberty, Limited Gov’t and the Rule of Law. (as a side note to the administrator, if a person’s entire post is only critical of another person’s character, it’s probably an ad hominem attack….something specifically banned on this site)

Mr Fox…please stop acting like a child and grow up…fact is you aren’t showing any maturity whatsoever…you claim “lawlessness” in this matter all the while you are fully aware of Wyo. Stat. § 18-3-524 (which took it’s lawful course in the appointment of Commissioner Jennings) You make a mockery of US Supreme Court Judges calling them “”attorneys in robes” and you make childish rhymes like some kid in elementary school as stated in the Sheridan media Forum on SEPTEMBER 13, 2023 AT 4:25 PM…”Fire the Failed Four Commissioners…It’s kinda catchy. Hey, hey, what do ya say,…let’s not wait another day…Fire the Failed Four…..Today!…Mr Fox..Let me be clear…there is no point to argue with you because the problem with you is that you aren’t mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective

So if you “fail” to follow the law and “opt out” of paying federal income taxes, can you just claim you have a “different perspective” on tax law? Try that sham defense for breaking the law and see what happens. The “Four Failed” commissioners who refused to follow the law and rejected all three qualified candidates, FAILED to follow the law. The Law clearly states: “The Board SHALL select from one of the three candidates.” Period. They broke the law and their Oath of Office. The Failed Four commissioners can and will be held accountable by the legal system, the voters, or both. And it starts with the chairperson who carried out this planned failure of Lawlessness!

It is abundantly clear that the four commissioners failed to do their job of selecting a person to fill the vacancy. A judge did what the commissioners Failed to do…fill the vacancy. The only questions are why they failed to follow the law and was it pre-planned? All four failed commissioners are now subject to legal action that could involve removal from the Board. And if it was a premeditated failure, they are in serious trouble….and they know it. Good news: the first commissioner, legal advisor, or person to come forward with the truth, may be able to save their honor, dignity and job.

It took almost three months to fill the commissioner vacancy. That’s from the time Thompson made his resignation public, till Commissioner Jennings was sworn in. The process was made even longer when the four failed commissioners refused to do their appointed duty of selecting from one of three candidates put before them. Those four failed commissioners will go down in history as the Lawless Four Commissioners. And the People of Sheridan County will never forget or forgive them for their complete Failure and Gross Dereliction of Duty. And when it is revealed that their lawlessness was premeditated……
