On July 21, four large, metal bear-proof food storage boxes were installed at campsites in the Tongue River Canyon.
These bear-proof containers are intended for campers to store food items securely and keep them unavailable to bears. Public Information Specialist for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department Christina Schmidt spoke on the new containers during an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse.
Donated by the American Bear Foundation based in Cody, the containers were installed by volunteers from the local area and local Bowhunters of Wyoming members.
