City Looking at Complete Rewrite of Cemetery Ordinance

The City of Sheridan is currently taking a look at a complete rewrite of the current ordinance pertaining to the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. City Attorney Brendon Kerns presented the Council with a detailed rundown of what’s being proposed in the new ordinance at a Council study session Monday night. Kerns said that it is a complete rewrite of the Cemetery ordinance.

Kerns told the Council that along with what will essentially be a new Cemetery ordinance, there will also be policies and procedures for the cemetery.

Kerns said that it is likely that the first reading of the ordinance will come before the Council for consideration at their next regularly scheduled meeting that will take place next week.
