Troopers win big in Spearfish / Rockies win at Seattle

TROOPER BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers have won seven of their last eight games after winning two in Spearfish, South Dakota last night they pounded Spearfish 16-1 and 16-0.

The Troopers take a 26-17 record into Billings as they open a tournament today they play with a team from Parker, Colorado today and play two tomorrow against Beaverton, Oregon and the Billings Scarlets the tournament runs through Sunday.

Troopers Head coach Ben Phillips says they are finishing up a long stretch of games this week and it’s all hands on deck for the next few days.

The next home games for the Troops will be July first against Spearfish.

ROCKIES BASEBALL – Trevor Story homered twice and German Márquez took a perfect game into the sixth inning of the Rockies’ 5-2 win at Seattle. Story had a solo shot in the fourth and a two-run homer in the eighth to help Colorado earn just their sixth road win.

Brendan Rodgers also hit a two-run drive, more than enough offensive punch to back Márquez, whose perfect game was broken up by Taylor Trammell’s solo homer.

The Rockies are off today and open a road series at Milwaukee tomorrow afternoon.
