UW President Finalists To Make Public Appearances
The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees has identified two finalists for the university presidency and scheduled public appearances for those candidates beginning Monday, March 30.
The candidates are Kelly Crane, the Farm Credit Services of America Dean of UW’s College of Agriculture, Life Sciences and Natural Resources; and Brigadier General Shane Reeves, a Wyoming native who is dean of the Academic Board at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.
The Board of Trustees selected the finalists following two rounds of interviews, one conducted by a 17-member search committee that considered 103 applicants for the position.
Here’s the schedule for each finalist:
Crane — Monday, March 30
2-3 p.m. — Campus forum, public presentation and question-and-answer session for all interested faculty, staff, students and members of the community; Wyoming Union ballroom.
5:30-7 p.m. — Community reception, meet and greet with candidate, Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.
Reeves — Tuesday, March 31
2-3 p.m. — Campus forum, public presentation and question-and-answer session for all interested faculty, staff, students and members of the community; Wyoming Union ballroom.
5:30-7 p.m. — Community reception, meet and greet with candidate, Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.
During their visits to campus, the finalists also will meet with various UW constituent groups, among other activities.
The Board of Trustees will seek public input on the candidates before it fulfills its responsibility to select the new president.
President Ed Seidel has granted UW employees release time from 2-3 p.m. on March 30 and 31 to participate in the campus forums with the candidates.
The university will remain open during this time, and all units are expected to provide essential services.
The scheduling of release time should be a collaborative discussion between supervisors and employees to ensure release time is balanced with the effective and uninterrupted operation of university services.
