President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” narrowly passed on a 50 to 50 vote in the U.S. Senate Tuesday, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie breaking vote in favor of the bill. U.S. Senators Cynthia Lummis and John Barrasso (both-R-WY) voted in favor of the bill and issued statements following its passage.

Senator Lummis said every weekend in Wyoming, constituents come up to her to share their priorities for Washington, and they’re clear about what they expect: no tax increases, a secure border, elimination of waste and fraud in programs like Medicaid and SNAP, an end to Biden’s green energy scams, and most importantly, restoring America’s fiscal strength. Lummis added that while the bill certainly isn’t perfect, it’s a major step in the right direction that further unlocks Wyoming energy and delivers significant wins for working families across Wyoming.

Senator Barrasso said Senate Republicans kept their promises to the American people, as they voted to put more money in people’s pockets, to make our communities safer, and to stop the largest tax increase in history. Barrasso said that he’s worked to secure major wins for Wyoming and that the bill makes significant investments in rural healthcare and the development of life-saving cures and cuts taxes for Wyoming families, workers, and small businesses.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Sunday that if passed, the bill would add over $3.3 trillion to the nation’s debt and would leave almost 12 million Americans uninsured by 2034. The bill now heads back to the House, where it must be passed again before it heads to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law. Trump has publicly said that he wants the bill on his desk by Independence Day.

They voted like “Dear Leader trump” wanted, thereby escaping being called names and other third grade stuff. So millions will lose their health care, children will go hungry but the rich trump buddies will get their tax cuts…

This bill is a Sham! Barrasso and Lummis are gaslighting…who will pay for the $3.3 trillion dollar increase to the already 36 trillion dollar national debt? The answer is apparent…taxpayers will pay…this is just more “kicking the can down the road”…if it was such a “beautiful bill” JD Vance wouldn’t have needed to make a tie breaking vote. The social repercussions from 12 million Americans being uninsured will be immeasurable. God help us all.
